Thanks to the generosity of several families, P6/7 pupils were able to plant several varieties of seeds last Friday.
As part of our spring-themed focus fortnight, we discussed how to improve our playground for pollinating insects. P6/7 were able to plant sunflower seeds as well as their choice of a second flowering plant. Once the risk of overnight frost is passed, we will plant out our seedlings in various position around the playground.
Most of our seedlings germinated and are growing well. We started the process of “hardening off” before we plant them out.
