Term 3 Week 8: 1st – 5th March 2021

Good morning P6/7 pupils and families!

The learning grid for the week can be found in the P6/7 Google Classroom as well as here. Google Meets are highlighted in green.

For the next 4.5 weeks, P6/7 will be working on Personal Projects. We will discuss these at this morning’s Google Meet. Pupils should spend the next 2 weeks reading and taking notes. Please dissuade them from creating any presentations yet!

Wednesday 3rd March is World Maths Day! By Wednesday morning everyone should have received a small mirror and some different squared paper and offline maths options (with answers!) The mirror and squared paper will be needed for Mrs McLean’s symmetry lessons (the mirrors will need returned to me once this maths topic is completed.) The other number based activities can be completed on Wednesday, or at any other time that suits you!

Thursday 4th March is World Book Day! I’ve included some live events in the timetable. The World Book Day homepage is here: https://www.worldbookday.com/

Our new traditional music tutor is Richard Smith. It would be great if P6/7 pupils could join us for his 2nd music workshop at 1.40pm on Thursday. Last week we looked at the different families of musical instruments and how they work (brass, woodwind, strings, percussion and keyboards.) Please can pupils have a piece of paper and a pencil handy for the activities.

P7 Transition

Transition events for P7s will resume this Thursday with the first of three Google Meets at 9.10am. These will take place using the Meet link in the P7 Transition Google Classroom.

Transition booklets are in the post to all our P7s. When they arrive, feel free to have a good look through them but please do not fill anything in yet!
