Pupil-led Workshops

During the last week of term, P6/7 pupils led workshops to share their skills with their peers. They came up with this idea as a way of making the end of each term feel special, and as a replacement for “Skills Academies,” which we cannot operate in the usual way because of Covid-19 restrictions.

On Wednesday 7th October, Ava & Felicity led a workshop about watercolour and silhouette techniques. They had some pre-prepared examples to show the class, which was very helpful.

On Thursday 8th October, Joshua led an athletics workshop which he had carefully planned to be contact and equipment free! This included a warm up game, special version of relay racing and a cool down. Everyone worked really hard.

On the very last day of term, Morven led a numeracy workshop revising chimney addition. She provided three difficulty options for pupils to choose between, and after demonstrating at the chalkboard, set pupils some jotter work to do on our Google Classroom!

Miss Mullin was extremely impressed by the workshop leaders. They showed fantastic leadership, organisation and communication skills. Different P6/7 leaders have already volunteered to deliver more pupil-led workshops in December and April!
