P6/7 celebrated Maths Week Scotland from 28th September – 4th October in a number of ways. https://www.mathsweek.scot/
We had great fun playing maths games in the playground: “Find your factor,” “Times tables ladders” and “Tree-mendously Old.” Pairs worked together to measure tree trunks in the playground. Some of our trees are over 30 years old!
P6/7 chose to research Sir Isaac Newton and created a book to share with the rest of the school at assembly, using Book Creator: https://read.bookcreator.com/W5wbwLJYZkVwiLJnAKMRM2TIZx52/Hszr9i4oR_uWvoYn4YuYeg
We tried out some new maths websites: Sumdog and Mangahigh. It was interesting to compare them with Education City and Active Learn.
We also learned some new card games to practise our times tables and to exercise our mental agility…ask your child to show you how to play Multiple Mountains.
